Presidential Pick?

I've read about several of the Presidential candidates and was really impressed by this one. Yes, my curiosity was first due to the fact that he's Mormon, but I was determined that this not be a deciding factor for me. I'll vote for whomever I think will be the best U.S. President, no matter what their religion. This is a decision that I consider to be very important, and very personal to each and every one of us.

Since he is Mormon, I'm sure there will be people who will strongly oppose Mitt Romney as President. Hopefully people will consider his credentials and not put so much weight on religion. Most people have met Mormons and have a preconceived impression of us. Hopefully those people have had good impressions and consider us good neighbors, friends, and business people.

Whatever your first thought about a Mormon for the U.S. President, I hope that you read his site, and also read the Wikipedia site regarding Mitt Romney. I consider both to be very informative, as well as impressive. As for me, I'll continue to look at all of the candidates and will make my decision based on whom I think will be best for our country. I look forward to this Presidential race. It is a very vital one for our country's future.

When I saw his name I wondered if he might be Mormon. Religion affects politics in many ways. When Kennedy ran for President some people thought that a Catholic president would be influenced by the Vatican. For me it is a matter of integrity/hypocracy. Does one practice their beliefs in everday life or just use their affiliation as a costume. A person of integrity no matter what their religion is a worthy candidate for office in my opinion. Their stance on issues then are more clear.

To be Romney's friend on Facebook you have to support him. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that yet, but I did anyway. I guess if I change my mind I can dump him as a friend. lol So far, I really do like him though.

There are a LOT of groups either supporting him or not...kinda what I expected to find.

Oh, and today he announced that he's running for President! Anyone think he or any other Republican will make it? I'm crossing my fingers. Sorry to those Democrats in my family! lol

Some day Papa will have to tell you all about how the democrats treated his grandfather in K.C. That is one reason we are R. Yes you have to have an open mind as to all the candidates I have voted for other than R too. But I have not been pleased with many of those elected. But I have grown bored with all the hipe. And started earlier every election until you just want it over.

The democrats back then though were the republicans now though... Pre-FDR at least, which I'm assumming Papa's grandfather would have been.

Political parties change and evolve with time. Basically the parties have flip-flopped overall when compared to the past. One of the reasons to look carefully not only at the party but at the individual candidate. If the candidate wins then he/she has influence to change the party in some ways also....usually only minor shifts at a time though, which add up to major shifts with time.
