Little Girly Girl

A few of my favorites from a photo shoot last Tuesday evening. This was her 2-year-old photo shoot. She was fun to photograph- loved running and playing but of course didn't want to sit still too long. I'm not sure what she thought of me! Her parents did well at trying to make it easier on me.

First Day of School Photos

As you can see this is me, being a mom, taking pics of the boys before they head off to school on their first day. Nothing fancy happening here, but great memories to keep! That's why I got into photography in the first place. I wanted to capture my personal family memories and help friends and family to do the same. So, here's a couple cuties excited to go back to school!

Logan- 7 1/2 years old- 2nd grade. Is VERY happy he got the teacher he'd hoped for. Has one of his two girlfriends in his class and she sits right next to him. Is happy to know that seats are changed often. Is usually a teacher's pet because they all think he's so darn cute and sweet.


Shane- 12, nearly 13 years old- 7th grade. Middle Schooler! Can you believe it? I'm having a little bit of a hard time adjusting. His first day was great and he only needed help with his locker once. His second day wasn't quite as fun because he had to write three papers. Get used to it kiddo! He had at least one friend in each class and lunch with all of the 7th grade friends. (Two of his friends since infant/toddler ages are in 8th grade at the same school.) Also a teacher's favorite most of the time because of his stunning good looks and great personality. I might be a little biased too...

Logan impatiently waiting the 30 minutes between bus pick ups. He also gets home about an hour later than Shane.


Logan and "Joe the bus driver" both wave good-bye to us as they head off to school. Joe drove the boys last year also and made a point to say 'hi' to Shane after school and wish him well at middle school. He's the type of guy feel you can trust to keep your kiddos safe on their journeys to and from school. The boys were very happy to see him!

I'll start my "school year" on Monday but don't expect any first day pictures. :)

Update on Life

The boys started school yesterday! Pictures to come but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet. I'll try to get to that tonight. I took the day off to be there to see them off and welcome them home. After school we went to Texas Star Cafe for lunch and then went school shoe shopping. I had said that maybe we'd go bowling but after lunch I was too tired so shoe shopping was a better option. Logan got a cute pair of New Balance shoes at Sears on clearance for $20 (great deal!) and Shane got a pair of low-top Converse at JCPenny. I got a kick out of the fact that all Shane cared about was finding Converse shoes in black and white. :) I'm wondering which of his friends have Converse also. They are very much his style though and look nice on him. Black and White have been his favorite "colors" for a while now too. I'm just glad he doesn't limit his wardrobe to this but also wears other colors, such as red and brown.

While the boys were at school I was able to complete ALL the rest of the work for my online August Intersession course. Wahoo!!! It's done. It wasn't a bad course, just lots of reading and writing. I don't mind either! I should have an 'A' in the class and will find out this weekend or early next week. Next week starts the Fall semester and I've already received emails from my digital photography teacher. It looks like a lot of what we'll be doing I already know which will be great. Lots of work, but lots of fun. I hope to learn a lot along the way to strenghten my skills/talent. Since it's digital the class mainly focuses on the Adobe CS3 or CS4 software for editing. This is what I'm needing help with so that's perfect. I've been looking forward to taking a class like this for some time now and it just happened to work out perfectly as the last elective I needed!

My baby belly is growing and looking cute, if I say so myself. One day I'll get a picture of me on here too.

With the kids back in school and my semester nearing I know life will continue to be caotic! Stay tuned!

Forgot to Mention...

I've updated the blogs I read section on the side. If you are seeing that your blog is no longer listed, sorry! I have taken off blogs not written on in the past 9 months to two years. Yes, there was at least one that wasn't used in two years. I finally gave up on them! :) I love you guys but figured if you aren't using them then I didn't need to list them.

Also, if you have a blog and it's not listed please let me know. I like to use blogs to keep people updated and to read about friends and family. I'm on Facebook so you can check in with me there too. My infrequent one-liners on Facebook aren't much compared to my blog posts.

Which is it?

We get to find out what we're having today! Ok, so we know it's human and has a heart beat and is VERY active. Soooo, will it be a boy or a girl? Shaun, of course, is hoping for another boy. He'd really be thrilled with another hunting and fishing partner. I might feel a bit sorry for him if it's not a boy... Shane, Logan, and I are hoping it will be a girl. For a while I was really feeling like this one was a girl. You know, mother's intuition and all that. However for the past couple weeks, and I don't know why, I've been wondering if it's a boy. Maybe I'm just trying to prepare myself. lol I'd be happy with another boy. I have also always wanted a daughter. I'm still leaning toward a girl... We'll see this afternoon!

The plan is for Shaun to pick the boys up at home around 3:30 or so and then meet me at the doctor's office. If he's running late then I'll need to leave here at 3:30 just to run home and get the boys and then get to the sonogram appointment by 4. I'm so nervous and excited! We asked the boys months ago if they would like to be there for this and yes, they are excited as well. It has been very fun for them to be a part of this. They were each able to feel baby movement a couple days ago so it's starting to get more real for them as well. Whether it's a boy or girl, I can't wait to know. More than anything I just want to hear that the baby is still doing well, has all it's parts, and looks strong and healthy. That's how I'm feeling but I'm still scared that something might go wrong.

My anxiety was pretty bad for a couple weeks at the end of July due to other stresses so of course I was worrying about the baby more than I needed to also. I'm good at keeping my stress level low even though I lead an absolutely crazy life. I get lots of rest and keep on top of my school work so that I don't take the stress out on my family. Sometimes I slip a little when my anxiety level is high. Poor Shaun had to deal with me being a bit of a monster on and off for that two weeks. Now that the summer session is over with and I've started on my August online course I'm doing much better. I'm even a couple days ahead! I love working ahead and really can't stand waiting until the last minute to do the work. My intersession course had a lot of reading and one-page posts and then responses. Other than that there are only a couple other assignments to do within this three-week session, each with deadlines. Last night, after uploading my chapter posts, I watched the movie Lorenzo's Oil. Now I get to write a 4-6 page paper by Friday. Easy! I love writing. (In case you couldn't tell by this blog!)

Now off to work to day away while dreaming about the baby! More to come, probably tonight!
