Two Horse Open Sleigh

Today was our sleigh ride! The boys and Shaun loved it. The sleigh ride was in part of Copper Mountain, which we hadn't been to yet, so it was fun to see. It's a smaller area that I'd imagined, and entirely focused on the ski resort, of course.

The sleigh ride was nice. We chose to do the less expensive afternoon chocolate ride. This included a 20 minute ride to and from a large, heated tent in the mountains, hot chocolate and s'mores, and entertainment (a woman singing and playing guitar). It was about what I expected and after a couple s'mores I couldn't even consider dinner afterward. The sleighs (2) where filled with 21 people and pulled by beautiful horses. It was a very family friendly activity.

After the sleigh ride we went to the movie theatre in nearby Dillon and watched "Bedtime Stories" which we highly recommend. It was great! We will definately see it again when it comes out on DVD or on Netflix online. We laughed a lot and Logan decided it was way to short. He was ready for another movie so we went home and put in a DVD and he was fast asleep. I guess he'll have to watch the movie tomorrow instead!

Tomorrow we get to go to a gold mine for a tour. It sounds fun and exciting. I think boys think we'll find gold. I hope they have a little in a gift shop! I told them not to get their hopes up. There is panning for gold, but I'm not sure they do this during the dead of winter, at least I'm hoping not. It's supposed to be part of the tour.

Here are a few pictures of the mountains and our sleigh ride:
