Tidbits

A few thoughts I recorded during the day:

High end, wee end.
Bottom of the hill/road means end of it even if at the top of the hill.
“Cracker” means great, awesome, etc.

Derry/LondonDerry population about 100,000 people. Later today I was told by Michael that he heard on the radio it's about 80,000 and is considered a town.

“Your granny could have told you that!” Local quote used often.

Ideas for final paper:
LDS church during the troubles (did it exist here yet?), their ethnic identity: past and present.
Boundaries of what can and cannot be said and discussed between Catholics and Protestants.

I need to read the syllabus again to see what the paper is supposed to be about to make sure these ideas fit.

I need to read/or reread Uncle Tom’s Cabin. I hear references to this book often.
