I decided to take a quick break from work to post a note. Due to my sometimes overwhelmingly busy life, I have found that I MUST be organized in about everyway I possibly have time to do so. No, my bedroom isn't always clean and organized, but my life is. Here's the deal: with working full time, taking 11 hours of classes, plus a zero credit sign language class that I finally had the time (yeah, right) to take, I don't always have time for other things that I deam important. Namely my husband, kids, and housework.
Sooo, and here's the funny part, I schedule this part of my life. I figure I have a scheduled work week (I even mentally schedule as much of my work tasks as possible so as to prioritize and make sure my ever full workload is managable) and scheduled classes, so why not just schedule everything else? Housework scheduling is by far the hardest as I just truly don't have time unless you count late evenings when I'm crashing a little early. Typically I have scheduled Saturday mornings for household chores, but that seems to not work out so well lately. Instead I've been running errands on Saturday mornings (which are supposed to be run after chores) and running my kids around to activities and such. Also if I have to get to the bank that's the best time for me to do so, which means chores would need to be done by 11:30. Not happening.
Saturday afternoons, after chores and errands of course, have been very nice weather-wise recently so IF I'm home and not busy (again- yeah, right) I have been scheduling them for time with my kids. This time being when I play outside with the boys if weather permits by riding bikes, playing kickball, or walking the dogs while the kids walk or ride their bikes, or bringing the boys and dogs on a hike. If the weather isn't so nice we stay at home and do chores (ick) or go somewhere together (shopping). We (read "I")also like to schedule time to watch movies together on evenings when we have time, or on weekends. Sometimes we'll watch a movie together with Shaun on pay per view or, more likely, Shaun won't want to so the boys and I will snuggle up in my room and watch a Netflix online movie.
For a while Shaun and I had "scheduled" dinner dates while the kids were at karate but now that karate is over we aren't doing those anymore. We've talked about doing "date night" at a local nice restaraunt but my Tuesday evening class interferes so we haven't "scheduled" us time lately. We do find lots of time to talk and communicate frequently however we really need to start having dates again!
As you can see, I'm not as scheduled right now as I'd like to be, but at least we're trying. Shaun deserves tons to props for doing so much at home lately, freeing my time on Saturday mornings to spend with the boys, or run errands, or both. He's been doing more of the laundry (almost all!) and been regularly vaccuming and mopping. I just love when he helps out so much! I think he's realized that I can't be supermom and I really need him to do more. My main job lately has been tidying the main rooms and encouraging the boys to do their part in their rooms, unloading the dishwasher, clearing the table, and with other occasional chores. Shaun deals so well with my hectic schedule. Even though it often annoys him (and he's always sure to let me know) he is coping much better right now and has also become a more involved dad in the past few years, which I've always prayed for.
I'm just feeling soooo very blessed lately. Organized or not, we've got a lot going for us and I'm realizing that more and more each day. For some reason I've been feeling good about my life lately and not so overwhelmed or depressed and it's been great. What more can I ask for? My prayers are definitely answered.

Phew! I'm tired just reading about trying to organize it all. Do you have a REALLY big wall calendar?
Hah! Funny thing is that I have one of those really cool "mom calendars" that I buy every December, but then hardly use. It's not even put up yet!
